TeuxDeux is a simple, designy, to-do app. If you like making to-do lists, you will love TeuxDeux. Use the free browser-based TeuxDeux (www.teuxdeux.com) at work/home and then take your to-do's on the road with the iPhone app. Here's what…..

Great potential but too basic to be useful...
Steve Sanders write:
This app has a simple design and is easy to use. It has so much potential but TeuxDeux is unusable for me because it is too simple and allows for no customization or flexibility. Every time you open the app it will sync automatically. This is a real pain because user can't turn off this feature. When I don't have wifi I have to wait about 10 seconds every time to try and enter a task and then it gives me an error message which is a real pain. This app has no notes, folders, repeating tasks, subtasks, iPad app, or anything special about it except that it looks simple and is easy to use. This is a bare bones basic app. I love simplicity but sometimes developers take this design philosophy too far and the app becomes unusable. You will quickly outgrow this app and long for some functional options. I now use an app called 2Do which offers a good balance between functionality and simplicity.
Teuxdeux.com is the best todo list since Palm Desktop on OS 9. I'm totally serious & obsessive with task management software to the point of personality flaw.
But when you launch this iPhone app you are locked out while it syncs (maybe 10 seconds).
The larger problem is when you don't have a data connection it takes 30 SECONDS to figure out your offline! Crazy bad; I'm not sure what to do. This may be my favorite todo list but that bottleneck is huge. Add background syncing & I'll rate it 5 star.
Update: didn't fix in the new version.
Try something Different
Adam Mason write:
I love this app. I gave up Evernote, Simplenote, Notes, and stickies because I love this newly found app so much.
I agree with other reviews though on the iPhone front. Upon loading, syncing is not preferred unless it's behind the scenes.
Suggestions: have a timer. If someone hasn't typed or moved anything in the app in say, 15 seconds, the app automatically syncs. In iOS 4 this can be easily implemented.
Hope that helps. Feel free to contact me for other ideas.
